Senator Paul Wellstone

Policy changed dramatically in America in 2002 when Senator Paul Wellstone was killed in a small plane crash, enabling the Republicans to gain a majority in the Senate. When Senator Carnahan was killed in a plane crash, his wife went on to win his Senate seat, thus depriving the Republicans of a majority in the election prior. But when Wellstone's wife went down with him, there was none to take his place. Walter Mondale stood in for the candidate, but it was too late in the game. Was his death an accident? Several see other possibilities and have supported them with some evidence.

Remember, Conspiracy Theory is nothing more or less than Pattern Recognition, a survival skill developed early in our evolution. It would be folly NOT to question whether incidents are random or a symptom of a sinister force at work when we see a pattern.
